Flat tyre replacement is fitting either your spare wheel or a brand-new tyre in place of one that has gone flat and can't be safely repaired. On UAE roads, most flats come from picking up nails, screws or metal shards on construction routes and highway shoulders — and while some can be plugged, sidewall damage or a shredded tread means a full replacement is the only safe option.

When you can repair vs when you must replace

A puncture is repairable if the hole is in the tread, is under 6 mm in diameter, and the tyre still holds pressure long enough to be inspected. If the damage is on the sidewall, at the shoulder edge, or the tyre has been driven flat for more than a few hundred metres, the internal cords are compromised and it must be replaced. See tyre puncture repair for the repairable case.

What replacement involves

A mobile technician arrives at your car, jacks up the wheel, removes the flat, either fits your spare (if roadworthy) or a new tyre of the correct size and speed rating, torques the wheel nuts to the manufacturer's spec, checks pressure and TPMS, and tests the tyre. Total time on-site: 25–40 minutes.

Which tyre is the right replacement?

Your correct tyre is defined by four numbers on the sidewall: width (e.g. 225), profile (e.g. 45), rim size (e.g. R17), and speed/load index (e.g. 91W). Mismatching any of these — especially fitting a lower speed rating — is illegal on UAE roads and voids most car insurance. QARO stocks the correct fit for every UAE-registered model or brings the exact size on order.

Why flats are more common in the UAE

  • Construction debris — nails and screws on and around active construction zones.
  • Extreme heat — an under-inflated tyre in 45 °C can overheat and blow out.
  • Kerbing — tight parking bays in Downtown and Marina cause sidewall damage.
  • Long, fast highways — small punctures fail quickly at highway speed.

What QARO charges
