Your first car in the UAE: keep a working spare, a jack and a warning triangle in it, check the tyres and the spare once a month because the heat drains them, expect a battery to last two to three years, and save one number for when something goes wrong. QARO comes to your car 24/7 in all seven emirates for a dead battery, a flat tyre, a lockout or a tow, with the price shown in the app before you confirm.

Your first-car checklist

  • In the boot: the spare wheel (inflated), the jack, the wheel brace, the locking wheel nut key if your wheels have one, and a warning triangle. Check they are all there in the first week.
  • Once a month: check all four tyres and the spare. UAE heat and cooler nights move tyre pressure more than you would expect. The right pressure is on the sticker in the driver’s door frame or the fuel flap.
  • Every summer: watch the battery. Most last two to three years in UAE heat, and slow cranking on a hot morning is the usual first sign.
  • Weekly in the dusty months: wash the car, so fine dust does not bake onto the paint.
  • Before registration renewal: have the car checked a week before the test, so you fix anything that would fail first.
  • In your phone: the QARO app and QARO’s number, +971501297349.

Staying safe in a breakdown

  • Switch on your hazard lights and get as far from moving traffic as you can.
  • On a highway, get everyone out on the side away from traffic and behind the barrier if there is one.
  • In an emergency or after an accident, call 999 first.
  • Share your live location in the QARO app, with the level and bay number if you are in a car park.

Servicing

For routine servicing and workshop repairs, find a garage near you and book it through QARO garage booking. Before you book, see what to check before booking a car service.
