Tyre air pressure top-up in Dubai: free pump or mobile top-up?
For a routine top-up, the air pump at a petrol station is the cheapest option: it is free at most ADNOC, ENOC and Emarat stations. QARO’s mobile top-up, starting from AED 150, is for the times when driving to a pump is not a good idea.
When a mobile top-up makes sense
- A tyre looks flat or very low. Driving on it, even to the nearest station, can damage the tyre and the rim.
- The car is parked where it is hard to move, such as a basement or tower car park, and the tyre-pressure warning is on.
- The spare needs air before it can go on the car.
- You suspect a slow puncture. If the technician finds one, the order can be converted to a puncture repair or a spare fitting at a reduced rate.

How to find and keep the right tyre pressure
- Use your car’s number, not the tyre’s. It is on a sticker in the driver’s door frame, inside the fuel flap, or in the owner’s manual. The “MAX PRESS” moulded on the tyre is the most it can take, not what your car needs.
- Check when the tyres are cold, first thing in the morning or after the car has stood in the shade. Driving and the sun both raise the reading.
- Do not let air out of hot tyres. A higher reading after a drive is normal and drops as the tyre cools.
- Check every two weeks in summer, and the spare once a month. UAE heat and cooler nights move the pressure more than you would expect.
- One tyre always low? If it needs air every week or two, it has a slow puncture. Get it repaired rather than topping it up.
- Air or nitrogen? Nitrogen, offered at some stations and tyre shops, leaks out a little more slowly, but ordinary air at the right pressure is fine for everyday driving.
